Skills For Growth: The Workforce Development Program

VACC Skills Development Centre has been chosen as a member of the Skills for Growth: The Workforce Development Program Service Provider Panel, which is part of the State Government’s Securing Jobs for the Future initiative. http://www.business.vic.gov.au/skillsforgrowth

The Skills for Growth Program recognises that small and medium enterprises play a pivotal role in Victoria’s overall economy, as they account for more than 99 percent of all Victorian businesses and employ nearly one million people across a range of industries.

As a provider of the Skills for Growth Program, VACC has a team of industry specialists who will work with you - free of charge - to identify strategic business aims and objectives and tailor workforce training and skills development plans to meet your goals.

To be eligible your business must be based in Victoria, must have been in business for at least 12 months, must be financially viable and must employ between 1 and 200 staff.

Services provided

• Training specialists will assess the skills of your business’s existing workforce and identify opportunities for skills development and vocational training.
• A skills-based training plan will be put together in consultation with the business owner or manager.
• A training specialist will facilitate the placement of your staff into the most appropriate vocational training for your business needs.
• In some cases your staff may be eligible for the Victorian Training Guarantee, which entitles them to a government subsidised place in a recognised vocational training course.
