Course Outline
This course follows on from the EMS course, this time focusing on Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). We begin with an overview of a typical system and move onto the operation of our current state-of-the-art MED 7/9 GDI fuel and engine management systems.
We take an in-depth look at:
- Basic design and operation of the key components, control unit functions and their interaction in the complete system.
- Fuel, mixture preparation and emissions control systems.
- Diagnostic setup and servicing possibilities
- Evaluation of diagnostic options with a Scantool and Oscilloscopes (KTS and FSA)
- Use of special servicing tools
Learning Outcomes
Trainees will attain the specialised skills and knowledge required to work with confidence on a Gasoline Direct Injection System.
