Course Outline
This course will give workshop technicians an understanding of the operating principles of electric/mechanical hybrid systems and the procedures related to servicing such vehicles.
It includes high voltage vehicle safety precautions that need to be observed and the operating principles, general service, precautions and requirements of hybrid vehicles. Participants will receive practical experience with electric/mechanical hybrid vehicles and scan tools.
Day One (Saturday, 16 October):
- Introduction to different types of hybrid electric and battery electric vehicle systems
- Principles of operation of the various types of hybrid electric and battery electric vehicle systems
- OH&S procedures for inspecting hybrid and battery electric vehicles
- Customer/owner expectations for the servicing of their hybrid vehicles
Day Two (Saturday, 23 October):
- Service hybrid engines and associated electrical components
- Preventive maintenance for Hybrid vehicle systems
- Outline of the essential tools required for servicing hybrids
- Repair requirements and diagnostic procedures for servicing hybrids
