Course Outline
A detailed look at the Common Rail Diesel systems that are found on modern diesel vehicles. This course covers diesel operating principles, from the basic combustion process and hydraulic principles right through to the advanced electronic controls such as
Piezo injectors & VG Turbos.
Modern emissions reduction technology including Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Ad-Blue, Diesel Oxidisation Converter (DOC) and EGR methods are also studied.
Included are details of the specific input sensors, actuator controls and their testing procedures.
Learning Outcomes
This course will provide a valuable insight into the technology, operation and diagnostics behind the rapidly growing diesel vehicle sector.
