It provides all the information you need to understand hybrid technology and the associated safe working practices. It will also teach you how to position your business to take advantage of this emerging technology. 

Units covered will include:

• Understand principles of Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology
  
  • Test high voltage batteries in HEVs
  • Service and maintain electrical components in HEVs
  • Deactivate and reinitialise power supply in HEVs
• Understand principles of Battery Electric Vehicles technology
  
  • Depower BEVs
  • Service and maintain BEVs
  • Test and repair high voltage battery systems in BEVs
  • Diagnose and repair system instrumentation and safety interlocks in BEVs.

The course provides opportunity to drive and ‘park’ hybrid vehicles in order to fully understand and develop safe practices for your workshop.

Course delivery in two parts:

• Module 1: Self-directed where participants can study in their own time and reduce off-the-job time.
• Module 2: 1 day face-to face hands on activities to transfer the learned knowledge in Module 1 to practical application

Requirements: Participants must possess a current/valid Australian Driver's Licence for the practical drive element.
