To ensure our members are presented with every opportunity to further their education, VACC Skills Development Centre has entered into a partnership with Open Universities Australia to facilitate a seamless transition into distance and online learning.
Open Universities Australia Partnership
Open Universities Australia brings 18 leading Australian universities and other higher education providers to you. It is the national leader in providing open and flexible access to quality tertiary education enrolling over 120,000 students since 1993. With more than 1000 units and 90 courses to choose from, OUA has something to offer you.
Take One Unit at a Time
OUA offers the flexibility to enrol in a single unit of interest or professional development, or to work towards an entire degree. There are no pre- requisites for entry-level units and bridging units. Study skills units can prepare you no matter what your education background. You can start your studies in any of OUA's four study periods in March, June, August or November.
Business Degrees
OUA offers several Business and Commerce degrees including the Bachelor of Business (Swinburne University of Technology) and Bachelor of Business Studies (Monash University) degrees online.
An accredited VACC Diploma of Managment will provide 4 units credit towards a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Business Studies.
Giving You Confidence
OUA makes every effor to suppor students on their study journey. If you are new or recently returning to univerity study, OUA has preparatory unitsto help you develop essential study skills like time management and exam preparation. These units are specifically designed to assist students in gaining necessary academic skills such as writing, note-taking, refrencing, researching and critical thinking. These preparatory units are an excellent way to begin your study, knowing that you will have the skills and learning tools to succeed.
Open Universities Australia offers you:
- Prep Units to introduce you to online learning (PREP02) or to help you while you study (PREP04)
- Unilearn Units which you can start at any time to bring you up to speed with mathematics, physics, writing or study skills
- Study Skills Units for credit in Maths, Business, Science disciplines
- SMARTHINKING online support that is free with each unit. You will receive six hours of free online help with preparing assignments and academic writing with each unit by using your VACC corporate client code:
- VACC members will receive a $60 textbook voucher from OUA upon enrolling for their first undergraduate unit or a $100 textbook voucher upon enrolling for their first postgraduate unit.
